Letters That Impress

I’ve gone into great depths in the past explaining the importance of how people view your company as a result of your color printing efforts.  I’ve neglected one aspect of your print communications, though.  That being, you’re actual written correspondences.  Your envelope and letterhead may be your first introduction to a potential client or business interest, so you should be sure you are making the best impression possible.  With that in mind, let me offer you a few quick and easy tips to help keep your image sharp.

The first bit of advice I can offer is to use the services of a professional printer.  Letterhead and envelop printing  is inexpensive and simple, so there’s really no excuse not to go pro.  A professional printer will be able to help you with your design decisions and will offer you a range of printing options for your consideration, such as colors, what type of paper stock you'd like to use, how you want your letterhead laid out and even whether you want raised or flat print.

That aside, there are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind when planning your printing.  Make sure that you design your letterhead so that you can easily use it in your other print materials, like invoices, fax cover sheets or greeting cards.  Doing so will save you a little time and money later, plus it helps you maintain a consistent look.

Speaking of consistency, you should also strongly consider using the same paper stock in your letterhead an envelopes.  This will give your correspondences a standard feel as well as instilling the image of being a first rate company in your recipients.

Your letterhead can be as simple as your company’s name and contact information, but if you have an established brand image or logo that people identify your company with, you should integrate it into your letterhead.  It is always important to reinforce your other marketing efforts to give your company any possible advantage you can.  Also, if you have a company slogan that you routinely use in your advertising, you should think about incorporating it into your letterhead printing as well, further pushing your brand.

Whether you've just opened a new startup business or just feel like it’s time to update your image a bit, you should consider professional printing.. A letterhead that's professionally designed and printed can set your correspondences apart, as well as make a positive first impression to prospective clients.  More than just the words on the page, your correspondences say a lot about you.
